8th Grade Nights are here!

8th Grade Parents! Your child is invited to participate in the high school marching band! The event date depends on which high school your child is tracked to attend. Riverbend and Courtland bound students will take a bus to the high school that Friday afternoon (September 29th) and you will need to make sure they have a ride home after the football game. If your child is going to Chancellor HS, the night for 8th grade students is Friday, September 22nd and they WILL NEED PARENT TRANSPORTATION to Chancellor at 5PM (see permission slip and info for Chancellor HS). If your child is attending Courtland HS or Riverbend HS, the night for 8th grade students is next Friday, September 29th (see permission slip and info for either Riverbend or Courtland - choose the school your child will be attending in 9th grade).

Mr. Christopher P. Hoovler

Mr. Hoovler is the band director at Freedom Middle School. He has his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from James Madison University and his Master's Degree in Music from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been teaching band in the public schools since 1997. Mr. Hoovler is a member of VMEA, VBODA, and Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Hoovler has earned Virginia Honor Band status as a former high school director, eleven VMEA Blue Ribbon awards, and has earned numerous superior ratings in his career.
